This collection of pieces is a Jamaican sacred work featuring the reggae genre as the dominant style. The work may be performed as a whole or select pieces may be done separately. Available are vocal scores with piano reduction or full score with reggae band accompaniment.

Thank you for your interest in the Jamaica Choral Scholars’ Festival.

The Jamaica Choral Scholars’ Festival 2012 is now accepting applications for its staging in Kingston, Jamaica from May 28-June 10.

Select participants will study and rehearse a body of choral music from the Caribbean including Father Richard Ho Lung’s Caribbean Mass and Mapletoft Poulle’s Jamaican Folk Mass, both for mixed chorus. The Choral Scholars will present two Gala events: a seminar on Jamaican Spirituals and a concert-lecture in honour of Jamaica’s 50th year of Independence, presenting the premiere of the Jamaican operetta, Hardtalk.

Applications will be available on this website from September 1, 2011. The deadline to receive applications is December 31, 2011.
